How & Why We Helped Peer39 Move From Netezza to Upsolver

Peer39 is a pioneer in cookie-free pre-bid targeting and offers patented semantic insights for over 500 million URLs daily. Although being a small company with limited resources, Peer39 still relies heavily on Big Data – it handles 10-20 Billion rows per day and needs to match and update a 1-1.5 Billion row dimensions tables while updating it at the same time.

For a long time, Peer39 had been relying on Netezza based, on-premise analytics. But, knowing that its current Netezza version is about to reach the end of life, Peer39 started to look for a cost-efficient, cloud-based, open-source solution that will not compromise processing development and pipeline.

That is where our team of data experts stepped in, helping Peer39 reverse engineer the existing platform to estimate its volume of functions and procedures, current ETL, analysis frequencies, rates, and data sizes.

Mapping Peer39’s old platform was a crucial step, as it helped us realize its complexity. The platform had dozens of thousands of code lines, all of which needed to be transformed or re-written under a very tight timeline.
